Kai Otten doesn't compose songs, he composes spaces. His music is handmade yet produced in a modern style – instrumental, open, and atmospheric. The warm sound of the nylon guitar combines with electronic elements to create a unique sound that blends Latin, bossa nova, jazz, flamenco, and Café del Mar.
His compositions are moods that live in the moment and are carefully crafted in the studio. They unfold, filling the room without pushing themselves into the foreground.
Another special feature are the specially produced backing tracks—unique pieces pressed onto vinyl—with the sound of the sea from Ibiza, cicadas from Provence, or gentle wind and birdsong. Subtle field recordings interweave with harmonious structures to create the feeling of a warm summer's day or a quiet moment at the window.
Live, Kai Otten creates soundscapes, not a show. Without a rigid program or the pressure to applaud, music emerges that breathes, improvises, and fills the moment.
